St Columba’s Free Church
My second wedding of 2019 took place at the really delightful St Columba’s Free Church at the top of the Royal Mile. I’ve photographed a few wedding receptions in there, most memorably two great weddings, one for Sophie and Saul and the other for Alison and Paul. Both were awesome couples to work with and both were two of my favourite ever weddings. So late last year, Ana and Hamish asked me if I was interested in photographing their wedding at St Columba’s.
Hamish is from Scotland while Ana is from Portugal so the wedding was mostly made up of people from their parish (they both regularly attend St Columba’s) and Hamish’s family but I believe their plan is to go back to Portugal and have a big party there. They asked for just a few photos so we arranged that I would take photos for just an hour or so but in this time I captured loads of photos in the church, some group photos both inside and out and we took some photos locally outside. We had snow on the day so it was brutally cold (hey, I just got back from Thailand where it was always 30-35c) but it was a nice day and a really fun wedding to photograph.
So another great wedding, a really easy and really nice couple to work with and St Columba’s Free Church was a fantastic venue to work in as always.
I’m going to be a little quiet with weddings for a short while but I’ve got absolutely tonnes of commercial work to do but all of the weddings I have coming up I’m super excited to photograph and share.
