Biscuit Factory wedding. Now this was a really interesting wedding to photograph. This was my last wedding of 2022 and I was booked for the wedding many months before it took place, but between being booked and the wedding itself I moved to London.
Actually, it was two weeks before the wedding. This made the wedding logistically really interesting. This wedding took place at the Biscuit Factory in Leith and from my old Edinburgh home, this would be about a 20-minute drive. For this wedding I had to leave my southwest London home at 4.30 am, catch a flight from Heathrow to Edinburgh, tram it into Edinburgh then bus it to the venue. All in all, door to door I was hitting 6-7 hours.
Then I photographed their wedding, left later than usual and crashed in my hotel close to 11 pm. But it was 1000% worth it. Lizzie and Andy were absolutely brilliant to work with, really good fun, really relaxed, super nice, an absolutely awesome couple and the few guests I chatted with throughout the day were all equally great.
This was my first wedding at the Biscuit Factory and it’s a real alternative venue but I really like it. I believe it was literally a biscuit factory at one point and they’ve retained the really industrial decor but have also updated parts with a bar, pictures on the walls, a sitting area downstairs, long tables upstairs etc. This is a hugely photogenic building which really lent itself towards a really photogenic couple.
Now I’m in London of course life has completely changed. I’m full-on busy with property photography already (thankfully!), I have a wedding booked at the Rowantree for March 2023 but beyond that, I’m not sure what’s happening with wedding photography.
We (my family) absolutely love London but there has been a settling down period and now I’m crazy busy with the properties I haven’t really focused on this website for a few months, but I’m now in the process of updating everything.
