City Chambers Big Red Bus Wedding

City Chambers Edinburgh Wedding

My first City Chambers wedding of 2019 was a really awesome one. Normally I meet couples and wedding parties at City Chambers, cover the ceremony, take a few photos outside and that’s it, and while that is great and I really do meet a lot of awesome couples and have a lot of fun, Jennifer hired me for her wedding at the beginning of March for a couple hours extra than normal and it was totally worth it.

The wedding started off with the last 30 minutes of preparation shots at a really lovely holiday house in Duddingston (right by Duddingston Kirk) and I think is always really brilliant, she hired the Red Bus which took her to the wedding via a loop around Calton Hill. Do have a look at their website but in summary it’s an old double decker red bus complete with a conductor who hands out tickets and it looks awesome.

I absolutely love the wedding bus, not only does it look absolutely awesome, it’s a lot of fun. The conductor’s are always friendly and everyone always has a lot of fun. I’ve been on the big red wedding bus a few times now and I’ve yet to see someone not enjoy being on it. Hey, I really seriously hate being a passenger on a bus and even I enjoy it.

So a 30 minute trip from the house to City Chambers and it was a typical City Chambers wedding. Short, really pleasant and with a touch of humour and lots of romance. City Chambers is completely different to the old Lothian Chambers but I’m really warming to it now. It feels a lot cosier. So ceremony, sign the register then a few group and couple’s photos on the stairs and then we headed outside, a few more photos around St Giles and then we jumped back onto the bus and headed to the Royal Botanic Gardens for their reception. We stopped on Calton Hill for bubbly and we were really lucky with the weather. Even though it was really cold, if we had been another 30 minutes later to the Botanic Gardens we would have been absolutely soaked by the rain but we timed it just right.

And that’s it. Jennifer and Chris were an absolute delight to work with, seriously one of the nicest couples I’ve ever met, the locations were great, the big red wedding bus was fun and everything was timed just right. A real favourite wedding!
