Edinburgh Castle Queen Anne Room Wedding. Edinburgh Castle is one of the best wedding venues possibly anywhere in the world but it’s also one of the most difficult to photograph due to the sheer number of tourists that visit there every year. Certainly I’ve never photographed a quiet (in terms of tourist noise) wedding in St Margarets Chapel but the thing I really love about Edinburgh Castle is you have three very different locations for weddings and each with their own challenges and charms.
The easiest venue to photograph by far is the Queen Anne room which is entirely tourist free and you have loads of space, big attractive rooms and you can still take really great photos outside.
One wedding that I photographed a couple years ago but have only gotten around to blogging now is this one which, as you may have guessed, taken place in the Queen Anne room. I was booked from just before the wedding ceremony up until first few dances in the evening and the whole wedding was super easy to photograph and I really love the resulting photos. The couple, who I won’t name as they are very private, were really easy to work with and even though they were quite show they look great in the photos.
After the wedding ceremony everyone did a tour of that level of the castle and the staff kindly allowed us to take photos along the wall overlooking Edinburgh New Town. These were easily my afvourite photos from the wedding.
So that’s it, another fab Edinburgh Castle Queen Anne Room Wedding. Can’t wait for my next wedding at Edinburgh Castle.
