Bunchrew House Hotel Wedding

One of the most memorable weddings of 2015 that I photographed was a wedding for Laura and David at Bunchrew House Hotel. This stood out to me for a for reasons. One was the really great venue, another the great location, the memorable drive up there and also I have history with the couple.

A few years ago I photographed a wedding at Kippilaw House for Kelly and Niall who themselves were an awesome couple in a really great location and a truly fantastic venue. David is Niall’s brother, how great!. Unlike Kippilaw House which is about a 45 minute drive from Edinburgh, Bunchrew House Hotel is up in Inverness which is about a 2.5 hour drive up one of the most dangerous roads in Scotland. It’s also really scenic once you hit a certain point but it’s a frustrating road because you get really long periods of time (even in a fast car) where you can’t overtake anything so people, and I saw this, take risks when overtaking.

So 2.5 hours after I left home I arrived at the venue and it’s really beautiful up there. The hotel itself sits on the shores of the Beauly Firth and is just lovely. I was hired from preparation shots to first dance(s) and the whole day was great. The staff were lovely, David and Laura were a pleasure to work with and the weather was absolutely stunning on the day (warm and sunny).

It was also great to catch up with Kelly and Niall in particular and David and Laura were kind enough to feed me on the day (mentioned in other posts this doesn’t happen very often). All in all this was a great wedding and one of my favourites of 2015. Hope you like the photos.
