If you follow the news at all in the UK I’m sure you’ve heard about flights being cancelled in Edinburgh and Scotland as well as the major 13+ hours of traffic delays around Glasgow. Well Caitriona and Sean were due to fly in from Ireland for a humanist wedding at Dunbars Close today. Their flights were cancelled so they had to drive over and use a ferry (700+ miles) and we arrived at Dunbar’s Close for their wedding today and it was closed. Completely locked up and sealed off. Shit!
Barring the odd permit here or there, as long as you have an officiant then you can get married absolutely anywhere you want so I suggested getting married right by St Margarets Loch at the bottom of Arthur’s Seat in Holyrood Park and what an awesome decision. Dunbars Close is lovely but Holyrood Park, especially when it’s covered in snow, is absolutely stunning. The ceremony was absolutely freezing and we had a few people ski past us and a few walkers but it was 100% worth going there.
So, as I said before I normally wait until I’ve done all the photos but I love these photos so much I just had to share a few photos. Incidentally Caitriona and Sean were staying at the Caledonia Hotel, from which I’ll share more photos when I’ve edited everything, but I’ve also shared one photo from there.
We didn’t take all the photos we wanted outside but what we did take I think looks awesome. So here are some photos from the Beast from the East wedding.
